Workshops

I run weekend workshops from my studio in Whitstable, for groups of up to five. Here you can learn what good breathing is and how it is done. You will experience how breathing in certain patterns affects your nervous system and how to apply these techniques to improve the quality of your life.

Day 1 Saturday 10am-2pm

Breathing mechanics

Part one

learn where your diaphragm is, what it looks like, and what it feels like to move it up and down. You will experience the calming sensation of slow diaphragmatic breathing.

lunch will be served in the garden or house - a chance to relax, rest and share experiences.

Part two

Experience how to access all areas of your rib cage. The rib cage is remarkably flexible and expands forwards backwards sideways and upwards. The lungs are connected  to the inside of the ribs so as they expand - so do the lungs. Once you can access their full capacity - your lungs can receive their maximum amount of oxygen. With practice, you can restore full capacity to your breathing apparatus.

Most people have never experienced what proper breathing feels like. This workshop changes that.

Day 2  Sunday 10am-2pm

Nervous system Regulation

In this workshop you will experience how different breathing patterns directly alter your nervous system state. We will use various techniques to excite the system creating energy and focus and others which cool the system creating a sense of calm.

By the end of the workshop you know how to use breathing to start and end your day well. How to reduce anxiety and feelings of overwhelm. You will learn how to sharpen your mind ready for an important conversation or presentation. In short, you will gain agency over your own nervous system

You will go home with a bespoke breathwork program specific to your needs including app style resources to help you remember and practice everything you have learned. With practice you will restore healthier breathing patterns and gain a certain level of control over your nervous system.
