Why breathwork?
Most of us give almost no thought to how we breathe — yet the quality of our breathing shapes how we think, how we feel, and how well our bodies function. Poor breathing habits are common and often go completely unnoticed. We breathe around 20,000 times per day so it’s easy to see that doing it properly matters. Unhealthy breathing can quietly undermine our wellbeing from the inside out.
Breathing matters
We can survive weeks without food, days without water — but only three minutes without oxygen. o2 is the ingredient that allows us to extract the energy we need to survive from the food that we eat, yet breathing is rarely thought about, let alone prioritised. Maybe there is an assumption that surely we all know how to breathe. But do we?
Who is breathwork for?
Everyone! Breathwork has applications across a wide range of health areas, such as:
Stress & burnout
Menopause
Anxiety and depression
Brain fog & focus
Low energy & motivation
Cardiovascular health
Sports performance
Asthma
Breathing dysfunction
Pain management
Learning to breathe well — fully, efficiently, and consciously — gives us a direct line into our own nervous system. That's not a small thing.
